We are so excited to share with you another gorgeous WED bride feature today! Our real WED bride Taylor was a bridal DREAM in her fit and flare Eddy K gown. The dress features a beautiful arrangement of applique that blends into a long, sweeping train. Taylor chose a nude colored lining for her dress that made the ivory applique detail really pop. The coloring was also perfectly matched with her blush bridesmaids, who also found their dresses at WED!
We got a little more insight below for this bride feature with Taylor!
How did you and your husband meet and how’d he propose?
We met each other at Texas Tech University. Zach proposed to me at English Newson Cellars at CapRock Winery in Lubbock. He was living in Las Colinas and I was living in Lubbock but had just accepted a job in Frisco. He came to visit me in Lubbock one last time before I moved and told me we were going to the winery with his parent, who were just going to meet us out at the winery later that evening. When we arrived at the winery, we went inside to purchase a bottle of wine then took a walk around the vineyards. He walked us right to this spot with a wooden cross and the ring was sitting on a barrel. He proposed then informed me his parents were actually waiting for us at their house with my parents and siblings to celebrate!
Was there anything that changed from you and your fiancés original vision to what actually came to be on your wedding day?
I think everything was pretty much how we envisioned it. We really wanted all the decor to be simple so our florist was amazing and ran with it!
What is the most memorable moment you have from your wedding day?
We loved our reception! Through the whole planning process we kept saying we just wanted everyone to have fun at the reception and I think we accomplished that. All of my cousins are older than me so I remember going to all of their weddings and just loved dancing the night away with them at their weddings. I wanted to give the same experience to all of my cousins kids and I think we were successful by looking at all the pictures of the kiddos on the dance floor. The little girls also loved watching us cut the cake and were surrounding the little cake table. It was so cute!
Did you have any “bloopers” or funny moments on the day of that you’ll always remember?
So our wedding just so happened to be at the same time as a HUGE Texas Tech Mens Basketball game. Texas Tech was playing Kentucky in Lubbock. Our entire wedding party and a good portion of our guests are Red Raider alums. We caught a few people watching the game on their phone during the ceremony. When the ceremony was over we walked straight to the grooms suite and turned on the tv. The game was tied with one minute left. We had the whole wedding party in there screaming at the tv which ended up making us start pictures late and entering the reception a little late but it was so worth it!
Last but not least, what is your favorite local Funky Town (AKA Fort Worth) date night spot? Either for happy hour, dinner or entertainment.
Either for happy hour, dinner or entertainment. We live in Frisco so Fort Worth is a little far for us to visit regularly. But, being Red Raiders, our favorite bar in Fort Worth would have to be Chimys even though the Lubbock Chimys is so much better haha! We also like Joe T Garcia’s!
We loved getting to be a part of this special time, Taylor! Thank you so much for being willing to share your wedding day with us for this real WED bride feature. A big congratulations to you and Zach from your team here at WED!
