A Real WED Bride: Paige Scott Jimenez

We are thrilled to highlight one of our most recent brides, Mrs. Paige Jimenez, as one of our stunning Real WED brides! Doesn’t Paige look absolutely breathtaking in her off-the-shoulder Allison Webb gown?! Her dress features a chapel length train with buttons cascading down her low V-back and a bow detail to accent. The WED team had the courtesy of surveying Mrs. Paige Jimenez, and selecting a few notable moments from her wedding this past May!

Tell us about your Husband! How did you two meet? How did he propose?

Heath and I met at the very end of high school and successfully maintained a long-distance relationship throughout college. After six years of dating, the time was right. Unfortunately, the pandemic threw a wrench in his plans. He waited patiently for the city to reopen to finalize his plan. On June 14, he told me we were going to a nice dinner but said it was a surprise as to the location. We ended up at Branch & Bird in downtown Fort Worth where he led me down a walkway lined with vases of peonies (my favorite flower) and onto the rooftop where a beautifully scripted sign said, “It Was Always You”. He dropped to a knee and asked me to marry him. Of course, I said yes! Afterwards, we celebrated with a private dinner on the rooftop and watched the sunset. Then, we hopped in the car and headed to an outdoor party where about 50 family and friends were waiting to congratulate us! It was the perfect proposal.

When trying on wedding gowns, what was one thing you kept in mind and how did you know the dress you chose was the one?

I headed into my first appointment of the day (I had 4 appointments scheduled that weekend) at WED Bridal Boutique. I knew I wanted something simple and classic. The ladies at WED were the absolute best and helped me pull about 10 initial dresses to try on. The first dress I put on immediately felt right. Everyone urged me to trust my instinct but also keep trying on a few more just to make sure. An hour and 9 dresses later I was back in the first dress and certain that it was the one. I knew this was the dress made for me because it fit like a glove right off the rack. It needed minimal alterations and I could not stop smiling when I glanced in the mirror. I knew Heath would have the same smile on his face when he saw me in the dress as I walked down the aisle.

Your wedding colors are so unique and beautiful! What drew you to those colors?

I knew I wanted lots of pops of color but was truly inspired after I chose my wedding venue! Stoney Ridge Villa is so unique and doesn’t even feel like you are in Texas. It has a Mediterranean/Tuscan feel and I thought a neutral colored base for the bridesmaid dresses, linens, invitations, etc. would look great with colorful floral. Stoney Ridge has stunning greenery on site in the courtyard where we held our reception, so I wanted to play off of the natural beauty that was there. As peonies are my favorite flower I made sure to incorporate them in as many places as I could – bouquets, centerpieces and my wedding cake!

Did you choose a something old, new, blue, and borrowed? If so, what were they?

I definitely had a “Something Blue” – my grandmothers blue topaz ring. It is one of my favorite pieces of her jewelry and I had always wanted to wear it on my special day. During our wedding ceremony, there was a small slip up with our rings – somehow, they did not make it to the church and we were forced to improvise. Since I was wearing my grandmothers’ ring, I used it to put on Heath’s finger when we exchanged rings. We are finally able to laugh about it now and of course, it makes her ring that much more sentimental to us.

Were there any unique traditions you included on your wedding day?

We had a “Dollar Dance” at the beginning of the reception. It’s a Hispanic tradition where friends and family come to the dance floor and put money in a jar to slow dance with the bride and groom. It’s a great ice breaker and fun way to get to chat with all your guests instead of having to make you way throughout the entire room saying hello to everyone. We had so much fun dancing with everyone and collected a tidy sum that we got to use towards our honeymoon.

We had a five-piece mariachi band perform during cocktail hour for our guests as they sipped wine and noshed on the 8 ft charcuterie board. It is also a Hispanic tradition to have a mariachi band and it’s reminiscent of all the great times Heath and I have had on date nights at Joe T’s. Heath worked as a bartender at Joe T’s while in college so it was a special personal touch to have the mariachi band that regularly performs there.
