Are you ready for our next Real WED Bride feature? This one is all about Kelsea and her new husband Will! This wedding reminds us that it’s not always about the big party, but it’s all about the small moments that make a wedding memorable. We are blown away at how beautiful our bride’s are on their special day and love to get a deeper look behind their love stories.
We were in awe over the love in these pictures! Read on for more about Will and Kelsea’s COVID approved wedding day celebration!
How did you and your fiancé meet and how’d he propose?
Will and I met on a dating app called “Hinge”! We graduated from the same school, Texas A&M University, only a year apart. Somehow we never met while both living in College Station. Thankfully, Hinge was there to help us meet during the fall of 2019 and we were engaged by November of that year! Will proposed at the Downtown Aquarium in Houston and I was caught totally off-guard. We were standing in front of one of the many fish tanks and while I wasn’t looking, a diver got into the tank with a sign that said “Kelsea, will you marry me?” When I turned around, Will was down on one knee with the ring of my DREAMS and the rest is history!
Was there anything that changed from you and your fiancé’s original vision to what actually came to be on your wedding day?
We got married during a global pandemic so there were a number of things that changed about our original vision of the day! The biggest ones were our headcount and honeymoon plans. The guest count was reduced to about 100 after originally being around 300 total. Not only did the guest count change, but the original Seattle honeymoon plans were nixed completely. We can both honestly say in retrospect that each of these changes were for the better though! A smaller head count meant that we were able to actually talk and spend time with most of our guests. Our new honeymoon plans in San Antonio didn’t require any long flights or time spent at the airport. Both changes ended up being for the better!
What is the most memorable moment you had during your wedding day?
We asked real WED bride Kelsea to share a favorite moment from the wedding, and she explained that one simple moment stood out above the rest. “The morning of the big day spent with my parents, bridesmaids, and sweet photographer/friend, Aubrey at our Airbnb! We took it really slow all morning and just enjoyed one another’s company. I am so thankful that we did because it really helped set the tone for the rest of the day!”
Did you have any “bloopers” or funny moments on the day of that you’ll always remember?
I don’t know if this counts as a funny moment, but I will never forget our mosquito fiasco. The field we were taking pictures post-ceremony was covered in mosquitoes. Our poor photographer (and myself) had to itch and swat at our arms and ankles in-between pictures and we just laughed the whole time… if I could go back, I would have been more prepared for that, but at the same time, it’s a part of the day that I’ll never forget!
Last but not least, what is your favorite local Funky Town (AKA Fort Worth) date night spot?
We love tex-mex and eat it for just about every meal, but by far the spot that we hit up the most for date night during our engagement was Blue Sushi Sake Grill on West 7th. We haven’t been in awhile thanks to Covid-19, but we plan on going back soon now that they’re open for dine-in again!
Kelsea, we absolutely loved seeing your simply timeless wedding come to life in these photos. We are extremely happy for you and Will and can’t wait to see where life takes your love story next! Thank you for allowing us to be a little part of such a big day and being a real WED bride feature. Congratulations from your WED team!
