Real WED Bride: Megan Crase

When our real WED bride Megan sent us her photo gallery, we were SWOONING over all the little details throughout her and Michael’s wedding day that really gave it so much personality!  The Lillian West dress she chose, featuring a delicate illusion neckline and flowy chiffon skirt, fit her romantic and intimate wedding in Austin, TX perfectly.

We hope you enjoy this little Q&A with real WED bride Megan about her picture perfect day!

How did you and your husband meet and how’d he propose?

My husband, Michael, and I went to high school together, but we were far from being high school sweethearts! We shared a few mutual friends and an English class senior year, but we were both quite reserved and didn’t talk more than asking each other about homework. Then we ended up going to the same university (UNT) and actually lived on the same floor of our freshman dorm…we still never really talked to each other! 2 years later, one of our mutual friends invited a group of us for dinner, we chatted and really hit it off.  Later that summer, we went on our first date and from then on we have been inseparable.  6.5 years later Michael proposed at the Fort Worth Japanese Garden on a rainy, December day. He had arranged it so that our parents and sisters were hiding in the bushes to witness the whole thing and then celebrate afterwards. It was beautiful and because of the rain, we had the whole place to ourselves!

Was there anything that changed from you and your husband’s original vision to what actually came to be on your wedding day?

Our wedding day was everything we imagined and more! We are so fortunate and blessed that we were able to create the wedding with all the details we had dreamed up together.

What is the most memorable moment you had during your wedding day?

There were so many amazing moments of our wedding day, its so difficult to pick only one! I will never forget the moment of walking down the aisle to “Do you Realize?” by The Flaming Lips being played on string quartet. The feeling of anticipation and overwhelming joy and love made any nerves that I had melt away. It was magical!

Did you have any “bloopers” or funny moments on the day of that you’ll always remember?

We did have a blooper! Our beloved dog, Lila, was in attendance sitting in the front row with my parents. Right as we were wrapping up our vows to one another (that we wrote ourselves), Lila started barking at a mailman delivering mail to the hotel’s main office. It was a great comic relief to our emotional vows that had our guests teary eyed!

Last but not least, what is your favorite local Funky Town (AKA Fort Worth) date night spot? Either for happy hour, dinner or entertainment.

Our favorite local date night spot is Cannon Chinese. We love the ambience, food and drinks!

We’re so grateful that you were willing to share your wedding with us, Megan.  Thank you for choosing to be a WED Bride, it’s so special getting to see the moments that come after the “saying yes to the dress!”  Congrats!
