Real WED Bride: Samantha Griffith

Our real WED Bride Samantha got married last November and we’re swooning over all her photos from her picture-perfect day!  Samantha was the perfect classic bride with such timeless additions to her wedding day.  She looked gorgeous in her dress that was built from a custom skirt and bodice combo from Lis Simon.

We got all the details from her perfect day for you here so check out her Q&A below!

How did you and your husband meet and how’d he propose?

We met in 2015 online, on Tinder to be exact. Ha! He proposed in January 2019 while we were on a weekend trip to Key West – a place neither of us had been before but a place we both had on our list to visit. He proposed on the beach at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park before sundown. What was really special was he had hired a local photographer to capture the proposal (she was hiding in the bushes!) and take our engagement photos right after.

Was there anything that changed from you and your fiancés original vision to what actually came to be on your wedding day?

I have never been the type of girl who had her whole wedding day planned out, but I knew what elements I didn’t want. I think Jake and I determined early on the three main components we wanted to focus on — our guest list, the food and the reception venue — and let the rest of the details fall in place.

What is the most memorable moment you have from your wedding day?

I distinctly remember sitting at our sweetheart table at the start of the reception and looking around the room in awe, while telling Jake that all these dear people had gathered together for us, to celebrate the two of us. It was rather surreal and I tried my best to soak it all in.

Did you have any “bloopers” or funny moments on the day of that you’ll always remember?

Jake and I did a first look at the church before our ceremony. While the anticipation building, I tapped on his shoulder to reveal my wedding gown and glammed up look. He turned around and after complimenting me, let me know I had lipstick on my front teeth. Our photographer captured the moment I was scraping said lipstick from my teeth. It was a very “Instagram vs. Reality” moment!

Last but not least, what is your favorite local Funky Town (AKA Fort Worth) date night spot?  Either for happy hour, dinner or entertainment.

We love to celebrate our birthdays and anniversaries at Reata because the food, service and ambiance are all excellent. Therefore, we chose Reata as the location of our rehearsal dinner.
